This will probably sound really stupid to alot of you but I really do not know what to do here I would just like MAMP PRO to work again. I’ve looked high and low on Google and all I can find are pages of words that are double dutch to me… I dont understand what the problem is basically. ![]() How can I restore everything to normal so that I can access the MAMP start page, phpmyadmin etc ? Ive tried completely uninstalling MAMP/MAMP PRO, nothing. This all seems to have happened when I stupidly tried to create a new user in PHP myadmin and I think I have entirely messed up the “root” account – However with this kind of topic this is as far as my knowledge goes… I am baffled. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server. PhpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. #1045 – Access denied for user (using password: YES) Then I try out of curiosity the webstart button to attempt to open the MAMP start page… and I get this errorĮrror: Could not connect to MySQL server!įinally I use the “Launch PhpMyAdmin Button”. Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysqlcheck: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user (using password: YES) when trying to connect Albeit without any databases, hosts or settings.Basically the problem is that every time I launch MAMP PRO and start the servers, when the MySQL server attempts to start I get this message… I then did a system restart, re-installed MAMP Pro completely fresh, and it all worked first time. looking at permissions and ownership, the app and files were owned by root (but not sure that had any refection on the gave me pointers to the uninstaller (something I didn't know existed), which due to permissions couldn't actually do anything. Also, although I could change the settings on the MAMP interface, none would save. MySQL was running but Apache couldn't launch. I've also tried booting into Safe mode, then restarting (another suggested solution).ĭue to trying to get my local server up and running again, I installed and got working XAMPP, which then had a knock on effect of allowing MAMP Pro to display a decent error message (instead of continually working) and allow the options on the interface to be active again. I've used Cocktail to purge memory cache and rebuild launch Services database. I run: ps aux | grep mysqld in terminal (as suggested on numerous sites as a solution to MAMP Pro not starting MySQL), it lists one entry, but the PID continually increases and I can't kill the process via the name mysqld. 18:35:22.335 WindowServer: įailed setting the front application to System Preferences, psnĠx0-0x23023, securitySessionID=0x186a5, err=-13066 Preferences" 0x0x7fde9ad13050 tried to be broughtįorward, but isn't in fPermittedFrontASNs ( ( ASN:0x0-0x22022:) ), so 18:35:22.335 coreservicesd: Application App:"System ![]() I've updated MAMP Pro to latest version (v2.1.2), and Googled for solutions, nothing seems to resolve it. I did a restart, both those apps were then fine, but MAMP Pro fails to launch. I'm running OSX v10.8.2 and Path Finder crashed, followed by Skype. I try to launch MAMP Pro, enter my system password then it sits there trying to connect to MySQL.
